FEED Feed your soul. Feed your body. Feed your mind.

Join us for Temple De Hirsch Sinai’s monthly lecture series, FEED. Start with a musically meaningful Rock Shabbat celebration to feed your soul, followed by a light supper lovingly prepared by Matzoh Momma to feed your body, and feed your mind with a lively discussion on various topics.
All Lectures are held in Seattle: Rock Shabbat: 6:00pm  Lecture & Dinner: 7:00pm
Donation of $5 per person (children are free)

Note, the dates and some of the courses are TBD, but here are a few lectures we have already lined up:

Jews in the Kitchen:
A Brief History of Essing and Fressing with Rabbi Alan Cook

What is a good Jewish gathering without food?  The Jewish calendar has been summed up as “They tried to kill us.  We won.  Let’s eat!”  But where did this affinity for gastronomy begin?  What are the origins of the now-familiar foods that so define our culture and identity?  Join us for a brief romp through Jewish culinary history.

Jewish Influence in Opera with Ken Schelgel
A fun filled lecture on the influence of Jewish artists and themes in the world of Opera. A lecture richly illustrated with sound and video clips.
