SHIR HADASH- A New Song
One of the most exciting trends to emerge in American synagogue life is the transformation of the worship experience. Movements such as Synagogue 2000 and Jewish Renewal have reshaped and reinvigorated communal prayer to respond to the changing needs and demographics of 21st century Jewish families. Reform synagogues have been at the forefront of these changes, and music is at the core of this transformation. These CDs contains songs which reflect the spirit of our renewed Friday night service. The warmth and inclusiveness of our 6 pm service and the joyful energy of our Rock Shabbat are represented here. We invite you to listen and learn, and to share your ruach, your spirited energy, with us on a Friday evening.
Attend one of Temple's Musical Friday Evening services. Join us at Rock Shabbat and Shabbat UnPlugged, both begin with a 5:30 p.m. wine and cheese "preneg" and services begin at 6:00 p.m.
- Rock Shabbat Mostly musical, partly mystical, totally participatory this rockin’ celebration is held on the second (in Seattle) and fourth (in Bellevue) Fridays of each month.
- Shabbat UnPlugged It's a bit more intimate and serene than Rock Shabbat, but you'll enjoy the same level of participation, warmth and spirituality. This service is in Bellevue only.
- Shabbat "Classic" in Seattle A more formal worship experience enhanced by the beauty of classical music on the third Friday of the month in Seattle at 7:30 p.m.
