A Family of Families

We seek to create a Kehillat Kedosha — a Holy Community.

This diverse and unique Temple family embodies the values of Jewish tradition balanced judiciously with the sensibilities of contemporary culture. Through our epic journey as a people, we have been bound together by a Brit or covenant — an enduring relationship with God, affirmed in community. This covenant provides us with much: friendship, love and care, meaning, study and a link to the transcendent. But for our Covenant Community to flourish and grow, there must be a sacred reciprocity. Our members must give of themselves, making an emotional, spiritual and financial investment in the whole.

We invite all our members to explore their Jewish possibilities together through:

Torah/Study: The life of the mind paves the way for the journey of the spirit. We delve into the texts of our tradition, seeking voices of the past to guide our hearts and minds as contemporary Jews.

Avodah/Worship: Prayer is a dialogue with God. We approach God in many ways: through the power of song, the inspiration of words, the beauty of sacred space and the authenticity of our intention. Our worship is as diverse as it is engaging, as moving as it is participatory.

G’millut Chasadim/Acts of Loving Kindness: The distillation of Torah wisdom can be reduced to one concept “love your neighbor as yourself.” To serve another is to serve God. To bring forth a sacrifice of self through a gift of time, material resources or concerted effort is to become an authentic partner with God in Ma’aseh B’reishit – the ongoing act of Creation.

Temple De Hirsch Sinai is you, it is all of us! The quality and character of our congregational family depends on your involvement and commitment. Join us on this important journey and link yourselves to our sacred task.

Welcome God into our midst and into your life as you become part of our Kehillat Kedosha.
